20th March 2025 - v0.3
This release took longer than we expected and also hoped, but it's got a lot in it! Here is what we have released/updated in this version.
Features & Functionalities
These are additions and alterations to the way in which Suffrago works to make your voices heard.
- Suffi: This version sees the first itertion of Suffi, Suffrago's AI engine. This version allows users to ask Suffi questions about areas, with more features planned - see our roadmap.
- Comment on Questions: Users now have the ability to comment directly on questions.
- Social Sharing: You can now share questions to social media platforms with dynamic Open Graph elements to show the results at the time of sharing.
- Question Results Page: Each question now has a dedicated results page located at "/questions?id=[QUESTIONID]". Pre sign in voting is not available at this time, but any one can access these pages.
- Your Statements Page: Ahead of the 1.0 release of Suffrago, you can see how each statement is understood by Suffi. This process enables the creation of questions, and understanding of what people are saying on Suffrago while protecting anonymity.
- Your Votes Page: You can see all the questions which you have voted on with the current highest response. With easy navigation to the question results page and social sharing.
- Pre sign in/registration interaction: Non registered users can now vote and comment on questions, these are stored inside "local storage" in the user's browser and recorded to the database the next time a user signs in.
- Report Pages: Wherever possible the reports that Suffrago creates will be made publicly available, at this time we make them available without fee for personal or public sector use only. However to counter scraping or other unauthorised usage we may refine this approach in future versions. These report pages not only host the main reports and one-page summaries but also highlight the findings as well as the purpose behind the reports.
- Press Page: Added a page highlighting where Suffrago has received national or local press coverage, as well as a link to press releases which will be made available through our blog.
- Blog integration: Added links to our blog – hosted on Substack and subdomained at blog.suffrago.org.
- Council minutes: Added a page where users can see the results of our council meetings as well as the response from the business
Content Updates
Updates made to the pages of Suffrago
- Voting Card Redesign: To make it easier to vote and support new features we have redesigned the question voting cards.
- Hub Page Redesign: We have redesigned the "hub" when you are signed into Suffrago, making it easier to find the different areas of Suffrago.
- Onboarding Updates: Updated the Onboarding to reflect the new "card" design
- Website Redesign: We have updated the "pre-sign in" pages of Suffrago to make them more succinct, with new pages also added to highlight our offering and accomplishments
- Team Page: Updated to reflect the current team at Suffrago and the members of our councils.
Basic Features
Maybe not the most exciting of things, but critical to the infrastructure and functioning of Suffrago.
- MP Area Linkage: To facilitate by-elections and multiple MPs per area, we have updated the way in which MPs are assigned to UK political areas. This is a step toward the goal of being able to present all candidates whenever a by-election happens. If a signed in MP resigns or triggers a by-election we will remove them from the front page and do our best to remove them from the constituency page whilst this work is ongoing.
