Activists from Animal Rising, formerly Animal Rebellion, conducted a high-profile rescue of beagle puppies from MBR Acres, a Cambridgeshire facility breeding dogs for medical research, sparking legal proceedings and public debate.
Prosecutors describe the dogs as stolen "stock, " it was a criminal offence and that the activists should go to jail.
Others argue they rescued sentient beings that think and feel, and that the puppies are now thriving in homes instead of enduring procedures like chemical tests and force-feeding before being put to sleep.
Should Lab testing on dogs be banned in the UK?
