The UK should cap annual immigration numbers; net migration is lower for 2024 than originally believed. The UK needs immigration but we need to cap numbers to limit those coming in.

In 2024, net migration was actually lower by 20% against the original figures.  The number is made from the difference between those entering and those leaving the country.  It was revised  down by 86,000 people and now is stated as 345,000 in 2024.

The main reason for this is that more British national are believed to have permanently left the UK and emigrated than were originally recorded, and there are now 100,000 fewer British nationals living in the UK.
