"The Labour Party should replace Sir Keir Starmer as leader and Prime Minister"

Speculation over Sir Keir Starmer’s leadership has intensified after Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham refused to rule out a leadership challenge.

Labour MP Clive Lewis suggested he would step aside to allow Burnham to return to Westminster, fuelling rumours of a possible contest.

Although Burnham insists he is focused on his mayoral duties, he declined multiple opportunities to dismiss the idea of replacing Starmer.

Some in the party have called Starmer’s position “untenable,” but a challenge would require Burnham to become an MP and gain support from 80 Labour MPs, making any leadership bid complex.
