In Monmouthshire, residents are now facing their fourth major flood in six years, with insurance increasingly difficult to obtain.

Despite years of warnings and consultations, some areas still lack proper flood defences.

Although the government has pledged £7.9bn for flood resilience schemes over the next decade, local leaders and MPs say urgent action is needed now to protect vulnerable communities and prevent further devastation.
