Sky Sports has shut down its new TikTok channel Halo just three days after launch, following widespread criticism that it was "sexist" and "patronising."
Intended as a female-focused space to engage new sports fans, Halo featured content like "hot girl walks" and matcha references, which many said infantilised women and reinforced stereotypes.
Critics, including fans and women's sport advocates, argued that women don’t need a “little sister” version of Sky Sports, but rather equal representation in mainstream coverage.
Sky admitted it "didn't get it right" and said it's "listening and learning."
