The BBC director general Tim Davie and head of news Deborah Turness have resigned following controversy after a Donald Trump speech was edited in a Panorama documentary.

BBC editorial policy requires that output should be impartial and balanced.

Media voices have accused the BBC of having a left-wing bias, whilst many social media commentators have accused the BBC of having a right-wing bias.
