Junior Doctors are right to go on a 5 day strike over job security and pay

The BMA have confirmed the Resident Doctors – previously called Junior Doctors – will go on strike for 5 days from the 14th of November [1].

This comes after a breakdown in negotiations with the Government over a range of issues including pay.

Roughly half of the medical workforce in England are Resident doctors, and this could affect the Government's plan to cut waiting times for non-urgent hospital treatments.

Even though the BMA argues that the pay for these doctors is 20% lower than 2008 accounting for inflation, they are not the only industry to be struggling with the recent economic conditions.
